HEIVA TU’ARO MAOHI OF THE POLYNESIAN TRIANGLE

Attend the 16th edition

For the 2023 edition of the Tu’aro Mā’ohi Heiva, the Traditional Sports and Games Federation will organize the world premiere 200 Kg Stone Lifting World Cup and the Coconut Tree Climbing World Cup.

BEYOND THE SEAS

We have established strong contacts with our cousins, brothers and neighbors in the Polynesian and Pacific Triangle in order to promote and publicize Tu’aro Mā’ohi internationally, particularly through the Pacific Traditional Sports Committee headquartered in Hawaii. The AFSM has maintained fraternal, operational and cultural relations with Hawai’i, Rapa Nui, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, California and Mexico since many years.

HEIVA TU’ARO MA’OHI: A REFERENCE

The “Heiva Tu’aro Mā’ohi” is a culmination of many months of training for most AFM-affiliated athletes. This will be even more true next year, as the “Heiva Tu’aro Mā’ohi 2022” will host the world premiere of the “200 Kg Stone Lifting World Cup” and the “Coconut Climbing World Cup”.

The dates are set for July 02 or 03 in “waiting period” for the Va’a Taie regattas and for July 14, 16 and 17 for the Tu’aro Ma’ohi.
HEIVA TU’ARO MA’OHI no te AITO 2019.

The Heiva Tu’aro Mā’ohi will once again take on an international or even global dimension with the participation of at least 5 countries. The last gatherings attracted increasing attendance with each edition and quality performances.

The Pacific Ancestral Sports
Committee has made it possible to standardize the competition rules, to promote Tu’aro Mā’ohi internationally with the aim of coordinating our actions with the member countries. This is why it was decided by mutual agreement to organize these two world premieres in 2022, in addition to the usual events.
